I have a NICU doctor who was at bedside for pre-op, operative, and post-op management for 2 hours for another provider who performed retinal surgery. My doctor personally administered the anesthesia for deep sedation. My question is: Can I bill with the anesthia codes such as 00140/P2 and 99100, or should I use the 99356 & 99357 prolonged service codes since he's not an anesthesiologist? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
