Hello

I am looking for the billing requirements needed for submitting claims for nurse practitioners for hospital E&Ms, I am aware there is a special modifier for assistance in surgery AS but I am wondering if there is one for E&Ms and if the physician has to actually write a partial chart note or just sign the NP's chart note?

The NP must use their own number for hospital visits. The only exception is the shared encounter which means the physician must have a face to face encounter with the patient on the same day and reference the NP note.
