We are having a disagreement in our office regarding this. I just want to find out what everyone else does. We see a lot of breast cancer patients in our office. They will have a biopsy that reaveals cancer, and be in a global period. When they come back into the office for the after surgery follow up, can you bill for this?? We would be using the same diagnosis 174.9 as the surgery, and using a 24 modifier. The doctor is discussing the cancer diagnosis, and treatment options. Any opinions that you can give on this would be great.
