I just want to confirm something

At our podiatry practice (provider not facility), we scan patient for orthotics (L3000). Can we bill for the actual scanning? I know with casting, the process is usually billed with 97760, can we can use the same CPT for scanning.

Many commercial payers will reimburse the code 29799 billed twice with RT and LT modifiers and a note in box 19 that says "casting for custom functional foot orthotics, bilateral". Orthotics should be billed out on date of dispense.
