Can anyone shed some light on how to bill medication management in a methadone clinic for medicare. Medicare does not recognize code 90863. Our patients simply come in to pick up their medications and monitor dosing. We bill these encounters as a series per week. We use to bill 90862 which was deleted 12/2012. It has now been replaced with 90863(add on code) which is not acceptable for medicare. I appreciate any thoughts on this issue.
