our anesthesiologist is wanting to bill for this Sonar Med Airway Device.. Is there a cpt code or HCPCS code for this. Any response is greatly appreciated!

Sonar Med Airway Device

This device is a disposable monitoring device used to verify correct endotracheal tube placement.
The technology includes acoustic sensors that send audible sonar waves into the patient's lungs and then the device analyzes returning echoes that determine proper tube placement.

In the Operating Room, endotracheal tube placement and confirmation of same are part of the anesthetic and not separately billable.

Is this being used in the Critical Care setting?
