Hello

Does anybody bill for Therapeutic ultrasound and strapping?? My podiatrists do this service a lot, and am not sure if it is reimbursable. They have some coming in once a week, and are currently billing a E/M. Any thoughts?

If the provider is documenting a service that has a CPT code for that service, then you cannot use an E&M instead because the correct CPT code might be denied. If the ultrasound and strapping is not reimbursable using the correct codes, then you will need the patient to sign an ABN prior to the service and charge the patient.
