I have a doctor that has order a occult blood twice onece in may and another one in july due to abnormal finders dx; 792.1 medicare is dening. Is he doing this too offten or is ther a G code is shoulde be using? Where is a good website that gives me th do and don't for this?
 
you should be using procedure code 82272

procedure 82270 is for colorectal screening whereas 82272 is performed
for other than colorectal screening.

I use 82272 for instance when pt has rectal bleeding (569.3) and Medicare pays.
