I need input please!
I work for a weight management clinic and we have recently begun administering a new medication via injection, the medication itself is new and not covered by insurances so they are having patients pay cash for the medication itself, some of the providers are still wanting to bill the patients insurance a 90471 for our clinic administering this medication. I am hesitant because I believe it would be “iffy” and there wouldn’t be that much to gain from trying to separate the two and solely bill a nurse visit with a 90471 while also collecting money from the patient for the medication itself. I am getting some push back from my providers so I thought I could get the input of some additional coders to show them. Thoughts?
