Hello, I am curious of the correct way to bill for the following situation. I am billing for the physician in the ED department and also for the physician in a Observation Unit. The ED is POS 23 and the Obs Unit is 22. If the Patient was placed in observation in the ED, and later that same day transferred to the Obs Unit, can we bill observation for both? *ED and RDU have different POS. We billed:
99219 for ED (paid)
99220 for Observation Unit (not paid)
