If a PRTC (POS 56) is not a SNF (POS 31) can you use the Nursing Facility Services? Per the AMA CPT we are to bill PRTC using those codes, but the debate is that PRTC does not meet the federal requirements for a SNF thus it is not valid to use the Nursing Facility Services codes. We should instead use the bill using in-patient or outpatient codes with the POS of 11. To me this sounds wrong. Please advise. 🙏 Thank you!!!!
