We charged Medicare a 90834 and they paid. After they paid, the provider wanted to change it to a 90832. What to do?

If the 90832 is in fact the correct code, you should submit a CORRECTED claim (reference the original claim #) to the carrier. I suggest you check your MACs website for particular instructions. Once the corrected claim is processed, the carrier should reverse the original payment and approve the correct payment. If a refund is due, ensure you promptly submit the refund per your MACs guidelines.

depending on your medicare contractor.. (we have WPS) they don't accept corrected claims .. you have to void the claim and resubmit a new claim the new code
