My boss wants to know if our facility were to open another radiology center in Arkansas can we bill using our Texas Tax ID/NPI and would this "piggyback" off our existing insurance contracts?

Our doctors are going to open an office in another state, we were told we have to have a different NPI for each location.

we have multiple locations and bill under the same group NPI and Group Federal ID# but each location has to be listed and contracted with each insurance carrier. Depending on what the carrier requires will determine how you need to contract. Individual NPI's also are listed and will follow that provider to each facility they work and they are linked by the group NPI and FEN numbers. Hope this helps.
