Hello,

I am unclear on how to bill the units by weight for GamaSTAN intramuscular route when a partial cc is administered. If anyone can advise me on how to bill the units in the following scenarios, I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Example: child receives 1.85 cc using J1460 code (Injection, gamma globulin, intramuscular, 1 cc), do we round the units up to 2 units for billing and reimbursement?

Example: adult receives 12.5 cc using J1560 code (Injection, gamma globulin, intramuscular, over 10 cc), do we round the unit to .5 since a half cc was administered or do we round up to 13 cc for billing and reimbursement?

Example: adult receives 22.2 cc using J1560 code (Injection, gamma globulin, intramuscular, over 10 cc), do we round the unit to 23 cc or is there another method that is used for billing and reimbursement when using the J1560 code?

I appreciate any guidance or knowledge you can share with me.

Thanks!
Kim M.
