When my doctor does a thyroid biopsy, code 60100; Do I post the charge each time the needle is passed or one time which may include multiple passes with the needle?

Actually, the number of passes makes no difference - they all combine to form the specimen and so the answer to your question is that you indeed only bill 60100 just one time.
