I am billing for a physician that performed 64615 with botox. the botox was supplied by a specialty pharmacy. physician wants to drop 64615 and the J code (j0585). to my understanding if medication was not supplied by the office and instead a pharmacy we cannot bill for j code. If anyone can confirm for me.

You are correct you can’t bill but some payors require you to bill the Jcode with a zero charge or .01 to show that it was supplied. We bill ours with a zero dollar amount and don’t have any issues with getting the admin code paid.
