Patient's insurance covers only Botox; Xeomin was administered. We buy & bill. Can we submit Botox JCODE even though Xeomin was used? My thought is no, but would like opinions/clarifications please. Thanks!
Your thought is correct, you cannot (legally or ethically) do this. It's incorrect coding, and if done knowingly and intentionally in order to obtain payment that your provider is not entitled to, then it can be considered fraud.
