Wiki Breast Ultrasound billing

Hello,

I would like to know how most coders bill breast ultrasounds for bilateral studies. Do you:

1) charge 2 separate lines with RT and LT as modifiers (1 unit each)
2) charge 1 line, 2 units, with a modifier 50 -- and double the fee.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

We bill with the 50 modifier but only 1 unit as by using the bilateral modifier, it is already 2 units and we double the price.
