This question is regarding C-diff and C-diff by PCR
We bill 87324 for the initial C-diff; however our lab is also doing a C-diff by PCR in addition to the initial C-diff for confirmation purposes.
We were told to use for the PCR is 83898.
The description for this code does not mention that this is for confirmation so we don't think we should be billing for the second C-diff's done by a different method.
Is this an appropriate code for a C-diff confirmation?
