I have researched billing these two procedures together. I am getting confused when you can bill the achilles repair. Physician did incise the tendon to get to the calcaneous, but there is extensive detail in the repair documentation. He used the arthrex speed bridge system. Can you bill 28118 and 27650 together?

I will expand on my answer in the Podiatry forum...if there was a repair to the achilles in addition to the removal of the bone spur, then yes, you can code both. Some opine that if the tendon was cut to reach the spur and there was nothing wrong with the tendon, then only the exostectomy can be coded. However, that does not sound to be the case in your particular example. If there was damage to the achilles tendon prior to cutting it to reach the spur, then tendon repair pay be appropriate.
