Anesthesia coders pls help me understand the following: ( Here's a Medicare example): The total anesthesia time used is 57 mins. And the answer is 3.8. I understand how the "3" was derived in the answer, because Medicare uses 15 minute increments. What I don't understand is the 2nd part of the answer "8". There are 12 mins remaining out of a total of 57 mins. How was "8" calculated? Please help! Mucho Gracias!
