Hmm, I know that the pharynx is bilaterally symmetrical but I don't think you can bill a mod 50 if that's what you were meaning. You could however try using 2.0 units

No you cannot bill bilateral, just as you cannot bill bilateral for a cerumen removal.

Check your modifier section in your coding book, it will tell you if a CPT code is bilateral.
