The doctor (Neurologist) spent 2 hours and 10 minutes seeing a very complex new patient at a SNF. Fifty minutes was face-to-face with the patient. The remainder of the time was on the floor reviewing the chart, tests, x-rays, ordering tests, consulting with the family, traveling to the NH, and etc.

Code 99306, is typically 45 minutes. Is there a prolonged service code for SNF visits?

Thanks for the help, Syllingk! Now I am wondering if I can use 99358 for the extra 2 hours work?
