Wiki Can a OT supervise a PTA?

Hello,
Would someone be able to help me with this unusual question? If in a private practice setting a PTA needs to see a patient but there isn't a PT available to supervise can an OT fill in and supervise the PTA?

You would need to contact your state’s occupational or physical therapy licensing board to get the answer to this. My guess is that the answer would be no since OT and PT are two different specialties with different licensing requirements.

Yes, this is up to your state licensing department, and most states do require direct supervision by a PT except for specific circumstances.

Agree with the above advice, and I would say it is highly doubtful to 100% no.
