Does anyone know if a CPC is covered to code for an ASC facility? If so, what are the major differences between Physican side an ASC side of coding? Besides the TC modifier.

My understanding is that you are permitted to code the medical record wherever it resides or whatever the setting. The difficulty is your skillset. CPC assumes the physician/professional side, but some are capable of coding diagnoses very well as well. There are coding guidelines for each. You will probably encounter mostly(?) surgeries when coding for an ASC. Some CPCs code E&Ms well, but not surgeries very well. Still depends on the CPC's skillset. :)

That should be right up my alley. Currently I code Orthopaedic surgeries/ Trauma cases. The ASC would be for coding Pain procedures.

Thanks for the advice!
