Wiki Can I bill patient's parent if they're under their parent's plan

I have this patient ignoring phone calls from us and everything regarding his balance from his deductible.

Can I try sending the bill to his parent since he's under his parent's plan or are there any legal, privacy or hipaa issues doing this?

If the patient is over 18 you would need his/her consent to release any information to the parents, including bills. Also legally they aren't responsible for the bill unless you have a financial responsibility form signed by them.
