When our ObGyn provider provides a fertility visit, the male and female are present. If our provider performs testing on the male, can he bill and E/M visit and/or any tests performed? He is already billing for the female's E/M visit. I think that it will get denied based on specialty and perhaps licensing. Any thoughts?

I agree, the claim will probably be denied because of the provider specialty. However, it might be able to be appealed if the documentation supports why the visit was performed on a male by an ob-gyn provider. To say the least, the male will probably have to have the services done elsewhere but will end up paying your bill for the services.
