I'm VERY new at coding, doing homework, and need help with this one.

A patient had a piece of metal removed from his left eye with a bevel of a 22-guage needle. Is code 65205LT correct? or should I use code 65235LT? I guess I'm confused whether it would be considered "external" or "intraocular".

Thanks.

External means that the globe is intact and the FB is outside the globe. Intraocular means that there is a wound and the FB is inside the globe. In that case it would be done as a surgical procedure in ASC or hospital OPD. It can be conjunctival which is 65205 or embedded in the cornea which is 65222. If it is non metallic it could be removed with a needle but corneal FB are usually removed with an alger brush.
