Hello, I have a question. Can a Urologist office bill for an EKG? and what CPT code should be bill?
Its really difficult to have pt's get an pre op EKG on time and my providers will like to offer this service to make it easier for the patients to get what they need before surgery. If any one can please help me.

Thanks

There’s no reason they cannot bill this, as long as they have the proper equipment and training to perform the procedure. For a standard 12-lead EKG, the codes are 93000 (global), 93005 (technical) and 93010 (professional).

I also see no reason why they cannot bill this. I will note from my experience, some specialists may not want to sign off on a patient's EKG reading - ESPECIALLY if abnormal.
Our patients all receive their preop EKG at the hospital's pre-surgical testing when getting their labwork and CXR (if needed).
