can we bill dx M54.42 and M51.16 together?
As the post above indicates, there is an Excludes1 note, but it is incorrect in stating that they may not be billed together. Per the exceptions given in the ICD-10 guidelines, the two codes may be billed together if they represent two unrelated conditions in the documentation.can we bill dx M54.42 and M51.16 together?
I have had this denial as well, sent appeal stating these are two separate lesions and unrelated conditions- appeals are still being upheldAs the post above indicates, there is an Excludes1 note, but it is incorrect in stating that they may not be billed together. For some payers you may need to bill these on separate lines like this:I have had this denial as well, sent appeal stating these are two separate lesions and unrelated conditions- appeals are still being upheld
