Wiki Can you use -76 for same day

I code for a Urologist and he placed a stent in a patient. Somehow when the patient voided it came out half way. He was sent home and came back the same day in severe pain so the Urologist had to repeat the procedure. Can I bill the procedure twice with -76 and -51 modifiers?

Yes you can use -76 on the same date. In your example, I don't think you need -51 at all.

Lisa is correct, do not use the 51 since the procedures were not performed at the same setting. Also the 76 modifier contraindicates the 51.
