Hello!
My provider seems to think that he can bill the critical care code for 15 mins. He said to adjust the units in the system. From what I learned the provider has to spend at least 30 mins on the patient in order to bill the 99291. Please tell me who is right in this matter?!

Thank you

The CPT book states "critical care of less than 30 minutes total duration on a given date should be reported with the appropriate E&M code". Show him a copy of the guidelines.
