Candida Antigen injections

I have a physician who has started to use the Candida injections for treatment of plantar warts. We are billing it out as 11900 for the injection and J3490 for the antigen itself. Insurance are denying the J3490. Has anyone else been billing this out and is there a payable code for the antigen itself?

When you bill for unclassified drugs, you should try billing them out hard copy with the drug name, price and units and the code should be converted. Add the NDC (National Drug Code) number. This procedure should be followed with all drug codes that are unclassified.

see coding clinics: 3rd qtr. 2010:9;2nd qtr.2009:-6.

Hope this Helps.
