Hi everyone,

had our first patient who couldn't swallow the GI capsule....they are expensive and now it's wasted. does anyone know if we can bill something for this?

thanks

In a GI group that I used to work with-

When our patients were given GI Capsules, they were also provided with a notice, that if they were unable to ingest the capsule they would be billed independently for a fee for the capsule.

We did not submit that to the insurance company because many times the patient would wait and retest at a later date and have no problems on the swallow.
