Hi,
I'm new to Cardiology ASC coding and am not sure what gets billed by the surgery center. What does the surgery center bill and what does the physician bill for a dual chamber pacemaker. Would you code CPT 33208 and C1785 for the surgery center and for the physician just CPT code 33208 or just bill the HCPCS code C1785 for the ASC center and CPT code 33208 for the physician.

Many thanks in advance for information on this.

Jane

From my research, C1785 is a valid code however does not have payment attached to it. In talking to one of the device partners, they view this as a "future" code though it has technically been around for a while. In our ASC I am coding 33208. I have not used the C code as it is not on my payment list for an ASC.
