Can anyone guide me towards any Medicare rules for having a patient pay cash for non-covered benefits?

I heard you can't charge lower than Medicare pays?

I assume you would have to charge all patients for that item/service? not bill insurance for some and not for others??

Thanks
Dawn

If you have a medicare pt pay for a non-covered item I do know you need then to sign an ABN in some cases. I have never ehard anything about cash. But if they do pay for a non-covered item it has to be the same price you would bill the ins. company and all other pts as well. Hope this helps.
