I am having issue with the difference in complex (66982) cataract removal and regular (66984) cataract removal. Would the use of Typan Blue stain on a white cataract allow the use of 66982? Any suggestions would be wonderful! Thanks

To the best of my knowledge a complex cataract surgery is when a Physician uses other instruments or techniques out of the norm to complete the cataract surgery. For example if a Physician uses an instrument for a pupil stretch. This must also be documented before the surgery is performed. I hope this helps.
