I have a cataract surgery that was performed & in addition to the dr. then with a "separate stab incision does an anterior capsulorrhexis capsulotomy. I was wondering if these should be coded 66982 or is it just part of the 66984 procedure?

Any imput would be appreciated.

The anterior capsulorrhexis capsulotomy is a surgical technique that is part of a standard cataract removal, 66984.

If the documentation had stated that a primary posterior capsulotomy or capsulorrhexis was performed on a pediatric patient then it would be a 66982.
