Wiki CCI Edits/No modifier allowed?

I know when two codes bump up against each other as a CCI edit, stating no modifier is allowed, that they should never be billed together.

What however, if two codes bump up against each other as bundled/no modifier allowed/cannot be billed together by CCI edits, & one of the procedures was done through a separate incision/site, would/could you then bill both and appeal the claim with the notes to see if it gets paid, or are they still unbillable together on the same date?

Any thoughts on this would be helpful! Thanks

If they have an edit for no modifier allowed then no you would not win that appeal. No modifier allowed means exactly that and to my knowledge there is no argument that can be constructed to over ride this.
