Can someone tell me how to find cerebral infart due to stenosis of vertebrsal artery and what the code would be...Thanks:)
 
433 Occlusion and stenosis of precerebral arteries

Codes starting 433 are the codes used for Vertebral, Carotid, and Basilar arteries. If it is just stenosis, use 433.20, but , with infarction use 433.21. Use 433.21 for vertebral artery infarction.
0 is without mention of cerebral infarction.
1 with cerebral infarction. See "Ingenix"
433.10 for Carotid, 433.00, Basilar for "without mention of cerebral infaction.
