I took the certification exam last year and need to re-take. Has anyone taken this exam and have any suggestions as to what are acceptable manual or resources to use during the test?

Are you taking the CPMA exam? If so, the study guide from AAPC is the really good. Coding experience along with the study guide will help you.

Did you find that the study guide prepared you for all of the government/regulations section? I felt that it didn't.
