When billing the new code for cerumen impaction removal using irrigation, does this have to be performed by the physician to bill?

Your nonphysician practitioners (NPPs) can perform the irrigation/lavage service, please keep in mind incident to guidelines. Your RNs and LPNs are eligible to perform the service, but check your state’s policy to see whether MAs can perform it. It depends upon your state’s guidance on who’s defined as clinical.
