Can anyone point me in the right direction for information about the cervical dilator code 59200. I have a physician that is wondering if she can charge the 59200 if the patient has the dilator inserted on the day prior to delivery. She asked me "If I insert the dilator at 3pm and the patient comes in at 11am then next day and delivers, can I charge for the dilator since it is not on the same day?" I know that 59200 is supposed to be used when the period is longer than 24 hrs, but I don't know what to tell her about this time span. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated.
