Wiki Cesarean and the Assistant

I'll be brief, we are billing 59510 for the primary and 59514-AS for the Assistant. The Assist is being denied by insurance as global. Should we be billing for the Assistant as a 59510-52+AS, using the 52 because he is not providing any ante or postpartum care? Thank you for any help.

The modifier for an assisant surgeon is 80. So the correct code would be 59514-80.

I use AS only if one of the Midwives here assist. Otherwise, 80. But I have not had a problem with the denial either.
