I work in pediatric pulmonology clinic. The RTs in our office perform the CETTs for the pediatric cardiologist. The test is coded under our department/location, but the interpretation is coded by the cardiologist. Their profees for the interpretation are being denied due to 2 different locations being billed. Is this as simple as adding a modifier to the interpretation or adding a modifier to the procedure? If so would both locations add a 25 modifier? or would we use modifier XP? I am meeting with VP of finance, our business analytics dept and IT next week for further insite. Hoping to get some help by then.
