Wiki Charge DME company for requesting charts?

We are dealing with a lot of DME companies requesting patient's charts to provide medical necessity for whatever was prescribed to the patient, due to the DME company being audited. This is taking up a lot of our time and some of these charts are 20-40 pages. Can we charge the DME company for printing the records, since this is not related to payment or treatment for the patient?
