My boss seems to think that chemical peels for acne can be billed under acne surgery code 10040 and most insurances will pay. We would just be doing chemical peels not using hydro-facial machine. I have a coworker from another derm office that bills out silk peels with hydro-facial machine and gets payment. That derm office even bills Medicare and I did not think Medicare ever pays for acne surgery. Does anyone have any experience billing acne surgery code for facials?
