If in a document, assessment states both CHF and Pulmonary Edema, should we code only CHF?

Pulmonary edema has a edit that says pulmonary edema with CHF should be reported to I50.9. But when you use pulmonary edema you can choose with heart condition or failure which codes to I50.1 Left ventricular failure, unspecified. The I50.1 is what I would use.
