Can "without aura" be assumed when coding chronic migraine if there is no mention of aura?

I am thinking NO as it doesn't appear to be a nonessential modifier but I am struggling to get Botox injections paid so I thought I should ask.
 
I would agree with you - unless it is specified as with or without aura, you can't get to the chronic migraine codes via the alphabetic index. If it's just documented as 'chronic migraine' with no additional specificity, I would code it as G43.909.
