Can we code chronic pain(338.29) as secondary with all general pain like chronic low back pain, chronic abdomen pain,chronic headache etc., is it correct according to coding guideline? can anyone clarify this?
 
Yes. You code the area of pain (back, abdomen, etc) and then the 338.29 to indicate that this is a long going/chronic issue.
